Special Pre-Meeting Program
Arlington 150th Anniversary was highlighted with information from Jay Warren about our city’s history and events happening throughout the city and throughout the year. Yard signs and stickers were available to residents.
President Sobel called the business meeting to order at 7:15 pm. He welcomed all residents, including 2 new ones and introduced the Board. It’s a good year for Arlington with the World Cup about to start. The street repair is a bigger challenge than we expected but eventually it will be a big plus for Interlochen and Loch N Green.
Secretary’s Report
Our original Lake Interlochen web site domain which had been poached several years ago came up for purchase, and we have gotten it back at a great price. LakeInterlochenTX.com and Lake Interlochem.com both point to the community page.
Last meeting’s minutes were approved via email and posted to the web site.

Treasurer’s Report
This report included three months of expenses. Most of the dam is paid for, engineering costs are paid monthly as services are rendered. We are down to $40,000 in our operating account. The treasurer is hoping not to have to use the emergency fund. There are 2 homes with unpaid dues. On a positive note, the change to Constellation Energy has saved us $200 over last year’s bills. There were two resale certificates issued for the sale of two neighborhood properties generating $200.
4th of July Parade
The 21st Boat parade will be on Saturday July the 4th. Boats will begin lining up at 6:45pm with a parade kick off at 7:00pm. Our Special Grand Marshalls in honor of our nation’s 250th birthday were secretly announced and will be revealed soon along with all the other parade details. It’s never too soon to begin thinking about your boat or back yard decorations.
Water Committee
April brought about our annual tilapia release. The fish seemed to have settled in and are working with the water committee to get rid of the duck weed. There have been two sprayings for the duckweed. Water quality testing will be completed prior to the 4th of July.
The dam is still nearly complete with only the dissipators left to be installed. However, the weather has not cooperated at all this spring. Very few dry days have not allowed the contractor to drain the creek to finish the work. Our contractor has also requested additional funds due to the increased costs of completing the project. This was debated and alternatives were discussed in open session.
43 of the 49 required energy dissipator still need to be built. Afterwards, there will be a general cleanup: patch and seal cracks in the wing walls, removal of excess dirt and concrete from the construction site, and revert the construction site and staging area. President Sobel and the Water Committee will be meeting with the contractor later this week.
Meeting was adjourned concluded at 8:45pm with a 15 minute Executive Session following.
